Roadkill I want to hump your leg!!

Well I have some jars right now and every thing is moving just fine. I was going to do the pf tek. I was thinking SOME day I would like to use hpoo and get in to casing. Casing sounded a bit out of my reach as new as I am and all, But after I read you Hpoo tek, I was in aww . So It is as easy as grinding it up mixing it in with the hpoo, putting in the incubating chamber, Then put some jiffy mix or some thing? WOW I am going to skip the pf tek, you think that's OK ??

my dog doesn't even hump my leg!~ and he is 160 pounds.

What kind of substrate are you going to colonize if your not going to do the pf tek? Rye grain or WBS?
Petco is having a sale on WBS right now....40 pound bag for $5.99
If you are going to get any of Tenn Studs products...I suggest getting the 100% horse poo that is already pastuerized. But have your jars of substrate almost colonized before ordering any.
You can fruit off horse poo without a casing layer and get good results. I do suggest casing though. Casing isn't as hard as it looks...just read up on it...and if you need any help just ask.
here is some F+ fruiting off horse poo...without a casing layer.

sweet, thanks for the information.
are the jars I am using. So you just mix th hpoo with the myc, wait till it's all white then put it some where cold with 12 hours of light? Should I put some jiffy mix on the hpoo? or verm on the bottom of the pan?
***edited...no links to Ebay that sell items that our Vendors sell*** You can talk about it...but no links. Thanks!~ -Roadkill

Hey, you go girl!!! Poo is definitely the way to go. While it is easy, I know my previous experiences helped make it easy. It's funny, you see pic's of things on here, but until you see them first hand, you're still not sure what you're looking at,lol.
I myself started with cakes, 50( 10 each of 5 different strains), and am glad I did. It gave me a chance to see a lot of things first hand and get all my noob questions out of the way. Thanks again guys. I fruited some, cased some and gained a lot of first hand experience.
But, if you have the resources and are willing to learn everything first hand from shit, lol, then like I said, you go girl!!
Good Luck.

Those are pint jars that you got off ebay.
After the jars are fully colonized...you would break up the cakes. spawn(mix) the cakes into the horse poo...and let that colonize.
then decide to case or not.
I'd case the bulk grow with either the 50/50 casing...or the 60/40 Verm and Coco Coir casing.
I don't use a bottom layer in my casings...some people do.

They're not really bad, they'll work. Quart jars of WBS work better as spawn.
You will have to mix the coir and verm yourself. It's easy. You can sterilize it in the microwave.

RK. Is there an amount you put in of hpoo per jar? Like lets say I put 5 pounds to 1 jar, I am using that as an example, Unless thats what you should do.
I think I am going to spawn it to poo, then throw somw jiffy mix on it, do a rain dance and smoke some jucie fruit. What do you think?
about the rain dance?

Funny you say this, I am in the same situation!
Can I store the pasturized poo? I want to get te poo work out of the way but my cakes probably wont be colonized for another week or week and a half from when i pasturize it. Also it would be really nice to save poo for the winter.
Also, is 20% spawn mean by volume i use 80% poo and 20% colonized substrate (BRF in my case)?

5 pounds of hydrated poo goes to 1.5-2 quarts of spawn...about 3-4 1/2 pints in a quart (depending on how filled the quart is) so you can calcuate from there.
After you spawn the poo in a tub, cover with voil or plastic wrap and put some small pin holes in it and let it colonize all of the poo, untill its 100%, like a jar. Incubate at a lower temp, since poo will generate heat, the bigger the container, the cooler you should keep it, keep it under 80 though..80 is good for a 5 pounder IME.
Then when colonized, sterlize some jiffy mix (Id add a few more shells and/or chuncky verm if you can) and add that to the top of the casing, then let it incubate for 2-3 days until myc is poking up, patch and fruit.

I think most say you should use the pasteurized poo within 24hrs. It lasts much much longer before pasteurization though.

I would think sittin in the hot (it's been 90+ here +heat index for the past couple weeks) sun for months would have pasturized it already, how could it make a difference?
What temperature should I store it at?
Thanks

Sitting in the sun at 90 degrees won't pasteurize it. You need between 150-160 degrees for that. If you can handle the potential bug problem, don't even pasteurize it. Diver doesn't and seems to be getting great results, along with some bugs, lol.
If you do pasteurize it, I wouldn't recommend storing it for a week to week and a half.
Good Luck.

I've got a bag of TennStudd that has been sitting in the bag it came in (with filter patch) for about a month in a half.
I'm going to try and spawn some WBS to it and see if it makes it. lol
We'll see.

Is the deal that I should pasturize it again after it's been sitting? That's not a problem for me. I just dont want to store unpasturized poo and open the bag to find something useless, like maggot infestation
