    #4349907 - 06/29/05 10:55 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

on a couple of my oyster logs, the blues, there is a couple of baseball sized amber colored spots. the spot is a slime that seems to be forming?????????????

I cut one out and sprayed with 100% peroxide and eliminated one spot, not i have a couple more though, they smell not bad but kinda like amonia. any ideas?

Sounds like mycelial excretions to me. It is probably not a contam but it can be a sign that mycelial network is stressed due to high temperatures, over incubation etc.

Is the log ready for fruiting? Has it been incubating for a long time?

Frequent spraying 100% peroxide will probably make it worse IMO.
