I have another question too by the way. I'm new to hunting/growing mushrooms. What does active and inactive mean?

Active means that the mushroom/s will make you trip. It has one or more of the following : Psilocybin, psilocin, baeocystin.

You can severly decrease the potency of an active mushrooms by heating it and drying it improperly. There are also a lot of look alike species that are inactive and/or poisonous, depending on what kind of mushroom you're trying to find.

i like to put them in my own kind of rice krispy treats...

there a bit different than normal,but there lovely....

or different pastries,but that's becuse i'm a baker so i have the means/supplies....but any one could do it i quess....

Gumby.. what are these improper drying techniques you speak of? i use a tek found on this site.. i put shrooms under a black tshirt and put a 120 watt light (i know UV rays destroy psilocybin.. but a 120 watt light cant create more UV and heat than the sun, can it?) and a fan for circulation about 12 inches above them.. this is all locked in my foot locker.. will that seeraly derease the potency? because it dries awesomely

I just let mine air dry with the fan on them. I was using a dehydrator and I could notice a decrease in potency because I wasn't able to disable the heating mechanism now I kind of paranoid about any heat during the drying process. Hempknight let me know how that black tee shirt works and if u notice any decrease in potency and also how long does it take

wouldn't the black shirt make it worse:black being the color that absorbs the most light/heat?.....


and i also just lay them out with a fan nearby...

i let mine airdry on a dehydrator rack with a fan on it.

oh ive done it before, skip, and it works like a charm. I havent noticed a loss in potency because i dont eat them usually, just give em to my friends. but im going to eat some tomorroow so ill tell you how it goes
