are they really that much more potent than the average cube? i've heard a lot of anxiety is involved, and less visuals. if that's the case then I don't know how much i'd enjoy them, I like the mellow/low anxiety and strong visual type trip, equador's are ideal for me, but i'm looking to try other strains. can anyone offer any insight?
mucho appriciated

i'm interested in this too... i've never known the strain i've been eating when i've tripped before. now i'm growing puerto ricans. i'm all for the low anxiety/mucho visuals trip myself. not that i'm gonna complain about any kind of mushrooms, but is it true that the visuals are low with PRs?

all i've heard is they hit really hard, harder than the normal shroom by far, and that they're a speedy type trip, they say you still get a lot of visuals, but it's more of a speed/mindfuck type thing.

Ive been told that they resemble Mexicubes but with more balls... If you want good visuals, and no mind and body fuck, dont eat Cubies, go for Psilocybe Cyanescens, Azurescens or Pan. Cyanescens...

yeah only thing about those is they're harder than hell to grow and can't be cultivated indoors. I can hardly even grow a cube man, more or less those. I wish I could buy them from someone...someone PM me..please! :)

Puerto's are not hard to grow and they grow easily indoors. You must be thinking of another shroom.

I like Mazatapecs !!!!!!! They tend to smaller fruits but very prolific. I just had a 1/4 ounce flush in a small tupperware container....very nice. The like the high on these,,, great visuals... tracers with a huge delay. and multi-layered effects between what you and what you are "trying" to focus on lol. .... a little racey, but not too bad . Try em you`ll like em

meep meep! I think he ment the other psilocybes i was mentioning are hard to cultivate... Puertos are just cubies at the end of the day...
And as for mazatapec, ive heard some great things about those and im trying them currently on birdseed...yippee

bluemeanie that's exactly what I was refurring to...not Puerto's.
Numba how do the Maz's compare to Puerto's? Have you had both? I've cultivated EQ's, i'm now doing Puerto's and was going to try GT's next, but maybe i'll switch to Maz's instead. sounds like a winner..

I can't belive how many people buy the hype :) I bet I could produce 20 different strains from one print, grow em all on different substrates, case some, cake fruit some, grow some outside, some with perlite humidification, some with a cool mist, and all you fools would buy em up as different strains and go on and on telling me how different each trip was :) I used to buy sheets of plain white blotter and draw different designs on them myself and sell them as different acid(this was in my misguided youth of course) and people would tell me how this type was better than the other, or those ones were visual, those ones were a mind fuck without visuals, and the whole time they were eating the same acid again and again. Placebo is a strong thing, especially when you read how a strain is suppose to effect you, don't you think you'll probably feel what you think you are suppose to? I have grown EQs several times, and each time they come out different looking, with slightly different potencys. I suppose its possible for some strains are a bit unique in the experiance(doubtful though) but you folks make different strains sound like different drugs, its hilarious :)
Sorry for randomly ranting, just cruising the forums I don;t usually check and felt like responding.

I used to think the same thing about these different "strains". But, i do think that there are some out there with a small amount more or a small ammount less of the active ingredient and/or display different growth rates on similar substrates. Since most of them were/are from different people, and because some of these people do agar work on them. I do believe that all cubies are the same species, but i also believe that there are other strains out there. Maybe i'm just all wrapped up in the hype ;)

agreed Lizard King... i've raved about the puerto before, as i think it's a great cubensis, but it is all in your head. since we're on the subject though... i have a couple of questions about these pics... :::current flush:::
these pics are both from the same batch and both are second flushes. i don't understand why some of the shrooms look great while others are clumped up and even others have mycelial growth on the caps... any explanations for the inconsistency?

figured a little more info might be helpful...
substrate : finch seed
casing : 50/50 with oyster shell
terrarium : 10 gallon fish tank
humidty : approx. 90% RH
temperature : 70-74oF
absolutely no humidification or misting has ever been needed with the setup... it's rather simple. the aluminum trays are set into the terrarium side-by-side; holds four. the tops is closed with a piece of plexiglass that fits snugly on top. the moisture in the casing is plenty to humidify the terrarium... as can be seen by water droplets on the glass of the terrarium and also by the mycelial growth on the caps of the premature. the terrarium is fanned several times daily.

I also agree with Lizard King. The fact of the matter is, unless your comparing a shroom that also contains Baeocystine or some other psychoactive compund, then the only difference between cubensis A and cubensis B is the amount of psilocybin. Thus, you can compare the *strength* of different strains, but the *type* of trips they yield is all about mindset.

haha! Nice acid story - But, i have found a difference between some Golden Teachers on grew on BRF and then some B+ and LIpa Yai grown on brf - in that i actually tripped on the GTs and the same amount of the other two was a bit dissappointing - maybe this is due to a number of factors other than this being a different spore race, so who knows... but like i said, if you wanna trip on shrooms, go for higher psilocybes...:-)

I've read _many_ reports regarding the b+ mushroom being a much harder body buzz, speedy, etc. Than other mushrooms. Are differences like this caused by suggestion/placebo? It seems that an awful lot of people share the same ideas about certain p.c. spore races having different euphoric/speedy/psychadelic/visual qualities in varying ammounts. I realize that many factors play into this. I.e, substrate, environ. variables present when grown (temp/humidity/light) and drying/preservation methods. But are the enough varying ammounts of psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin to consitute different 'feels' to different strains?
