a question about veg growth
    #4349230 - 06/29/05 03:06 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

If mycelium is left to colonize a substrate within its vegetative state for longer than is needed, would you think that it would produce more potent fruits? I have many times broken apart an old casing to discover that the grains I used to spawn are still intact. I also understand that later flushes are more potent than earlier flushes. Would this be because the mycelium has had more time to leech the substrate?

And if that is true, could you also reason that it is possible to fruit the mycelium much later than needed in order to produce more potent fruits?

Just some questions from a high grower.

ive heard that leaving the substrate alone for a couple weeks after being fully colonized does make the fruits more potent

Theres been alot of talk of it, very recently a VERY large and debated thread was going on in advanced...search for over incubation and higher potency. Peronsonally...I dont believe it or find it to be the case...at least to a noticable difference to anyone I've tested and asked..

Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
How I do grain (old still good tips)
Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
Casing layer colonization and overlay

Someone made this point in another thread on this. Even though you'd have a more potent flush, that doesn't make up for the overall loss of yield you'd lose from all of the fast, marginally less potent harvests you'd be passing up.

The sun was pulling cheap shots doing commercial body tricks, Behind the back, Under the leg, I think he even did a headspin, On a crossfader that sounded whack, But looked excellent, All of the sudden it gets dim, The crater face steps in, Puts mexican drumbreaks on the Technics, He's like "Let's begin", He conducted an orchestra so dope the sun started sweatin' him, I guess he'd expected to win on pure artistic merit, Composing complex plays with nothin but soundbytes, Burned out the lights, Made MCs too self conscious quit the master mics, For a thousand nights, It continued without a single slip up, Except once the record skipped, But it kinda sounded cool.

You dont get less harvests from overincubated jars.

i just dont understand the reason for more potent later flushes without taking into account this point.
