Your best bet is to buy cuttings of Trichocereus/Echinopsis pachanoi or peruvianus from reputable dealers. T/E bridgesii is also reputed to contain good quantities of mescaline.

MANY species of cacti contain trace quantities of mescaline, including Pereskiopsis.

The ones you can use in reasonable amounts to trip are the ones tourist already mentioned. Trichocereus pachanoi, peruvianus and bridgesii. And peyote of course.

I've seen claims of T. tersheckii (sp?) being active as well but i don't know how accurate that info is.

Peruvianus isn't necessarily stronger than pachanoi. I think this all started when a certain study came out on the potency of different species.
Everyone noticed peruvianus had 10X more mescaline/weight, but they failed to notice the values for pachanoi were for fresh weight and the peruvianus values were for dried weight...

I am sure there are high content clones out there of a few of the species.

I have a mite infested T. cuzcoensis :
"Native to Cuzco, Peru.
Contains: tyramine, 3-methoxytyramine, mescaline, 3-methoxy-4,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine." http://users.lycaeum.org/~iamklaus/trichoce.htm

I have read that cuzcoensis has a similar alkaloid content to peruvianus or pachanoi.

Also, I have come across Stenocereus (Ritterocereus) hystrix for sale recently, also claimed to have a similar alkaloid content to trichocerus peruvianus or pachanoi.

T. Terschekii does contain mescaline in active amounts, I ate 50g dried of the active part and had a level 3-4 trip.

There is also a report on erowid of a person that ate T. Terschekii and had some very negative effects. I have had many people having great fun on T.Ter though.
