wet to dry myco bags.
    #4346512 - 06/28/05 01:18 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Well When I first injected the myco bags, I was worryed about humidity do I keept the humidity up around 95 to 100. The inside of the bag was WET with water drops, Now since every one told me NOT to worry about humidity and have it down low the water drops went away. Now the B+ is SUPER slow,& Amazonian is doing OK it's 20% after 10 days. Should I bring up the humidity again? Also I keep looking in once aday, is this bad? One more thing I asked about crumbling the bag, but some people said it would hurt the myc. Is this true?

are you colonizing or fruiting. if your colonizing you need temps of 84-86F.
if your fruiting humidity is a factor.

rH is not a factor in incubation. Your bags sound fine. But I guess you could have them in an area that's so dry it will suck the moisture out of the bag.
I've never heard of it happening, but I guess it could.
Looking in on them everyday won't hurt them. And, you can mix the substrate, it will take the myc. a day or two to recover, but it will increase contact sites of myc. to sub.

peace

So it won't hurt the myc, If I crumble it around (slowly)?

do this about once every 3 days so that the mycelium has a chance to grow

the more you play with it, the slower it will grow. however, you do want to distribute the mycelium throughout the bag. so the point of the matter is getting the mycelium everywhere without slowing the growth.
