today i realized
    #4345486 - 06/28/05 02:20 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

when i walked out of work tonight i kind of just stop and stood there for a few minutes. tonight was one of those nights i lived for as a kid, warm , light out till 9pm. The smell in the air was absolutely unmistakable, summer. I looked out at this apartment complex behind the building and saw kids playing. it then kind of hit me that i can never go back to that. i dont think summer will ever be the same for me... i worked all day, like i do 40 hrs every week. i missed another summer day, in fact i miss 5 a week. and even on my days off i sleep all day because im always partying the night before. being grown up fucking sucks. so much stress and pressure. fucking working everyday. i guess i just miss my childhood , playing with friends in the woods behind my house. shit was so simple then...sleepovers, snow cones, nintendo... you dont even realize how great it was till its over.... ahh well im high, i need to sleep....gotta work tomorrow  :smirk:

Your right, life was pretty great being a kid. Working everyday at a job that you don't love sucks.

If you want that back, have kids. Its like being a kid again, but twice as fun. You'll hardly give a second thought to your bullshit job.

20 years from now you will remember how it was back in the day (that's now.) These are the good ole days. Live in the moment. You are healthy enough to party hard. Older cat's tell me that all the time.

Try making some kids and living vicariously through them.

Not me. I'd prefer to work and have the ability to drive to mountains and hike by myself, go in the woods and light up a bowl, eat some acid, smoke some DMT, and explore other realms of experience. Being a kid was OK, but I prefer the freedoms I have now compared to being a child.

You need to get out to the parks and woodlands. Get high and experience nature. Hike and chill out, do whatever comes across your path. Working that much sucks. Try and find something to keep you happy

My kind of guy  The only freedom I had as a kid was a freedom of responsibility.

Fuck it, man, I'm 22, have a full time job, but I can still hold it down and party. I fucking hate work, but I don't do shit all day and get paid reasonably well for it considering...

But on the other hand, I need to get out of this routine at some point or another. People really aren't meant for 9-5.

Work sucks a big donkey dick. Gotta get money though... what you really have to do is find something easy, fun, and something you love. It's probably not as hard as you think

My childhood was sort of a paradise...I lived in the hills of Pennsylvania and was constantly in the woods, running around dirty and barefoot, playing in creeks and picking wild blackberries...

Then I moved to Texas and my parents brought the Christian-hammer down on my wildness. And things sucked.

So now that I'm older, I'm sort of trying to recapture my childhood by being an adult. And I like it. I have much more freedom now, although having to work will really blow. But it's worth it...I think...
