I don't know how many of you out there have been watching "Hells Kitchen" on Fox (cooking and food are my thing what can I say?) but the way Gordon Ramsay acts reminds me a lot of the typical asshole French chefs I've worked under in the past. The restaurant kitchen atmosphere is very hectic and full of drug addicts and a lot of drama. so having to put up with a bitch as executive chef doesn't make anything better or gratifying. I would like to think that the age of the mean asshole chef has gone the way of Escoffier, but for the most part it is still in heavy practice, especially in fine dining restaurants, so a word of caution for those of you that are thinking of diving into the restaurant industry.

Gordon Ramsay is a good chef and I do give him props for having a Michelin star restuarant, but ego plays heavily in the foodservice industry (especially among cooks and chefs), and it really pisses me off to see him act like that. I vow that if and when I ever become that known for my food that I won't treat my staff like children, those are the people who are making you money by the way.

Oh and I won't sell out like he did.

it just makes for good tv. i bet he's encouraged...

and how did he sell out?

Real botanists laugh at HPS systems, we do however use high pressure sodium in the parking lot. - artthug
