can i use store bought compost for casings?

i have only got some compost and vermiculite could i use compost for a casing? would it work?

If not i might just fruit the cakes...

compost is not a casing material, casing materials are not nutritive, try to get some coir or peat.

What are the ingredients in your compost? Make sure it is non-nutritious and not acidic.

i think it is nutritious , i think i'll just try one casing with verm and then just fruit the rest of my cakes , thanx for the help
