I once cased some like 3week/1 month old WBS jars with straight verm and had good results....as long as the myc still looks healthy....you might be able to revive it with a good casing layer. Just my 2 cents!

you could inject some sterile water into the jars and give them one last good shake to distribute the water and see if the growth picked up. What method are you using for air exchange they might have stalled from c02 build up

ya that growth looks pitiful sry man. kinda looks like the bottom of the jars got cooked by you incubator and dryed out you grain is you heating element right under the jars? have you been using your incubation set up for a while?

i think it could be the 60% of tampering to much, agar has recommended to inoculate, shake them, then let them get to about 30% colonized and shake them again, then finish colonizing. this is if i remember correctly, sorry agar if i don't.
are they really that dry, i don't have a whole lot of experience with wbs, but the bottom part of the jars don't look that dry.
peace

well I cant see if they are that dry from the pic but the weak growth and the fact that with all that shaking all the growth is still at the top makes me think the moisture got cooked out of the grain

I have a couple jars that are stalling now as well.

It's been almost two weeks since inoculation (LC) and I only shook them once at about the time these pics were taken a few days ago. They have progressed a little since the shake, but still very slow especially at the bottom. I also have a TiT using a water pump along with the heater so it keeps a constant 83 degrees in the tub.

Very similar situation here. Hope we find a cure. It is going again now, but still slow considering it's been almost two weeks.

Yea, but he's been shakin the hell out of them. Wouldn't the dried out grain be dispersed?

What I recomend, is to inoculate quart jars of WBS with 5 squirts, 1 in each corner (against the glass) & 1 down the center.

THEN, DON"T SHAKE THE JAR. THAT WAY YOU CAN SEE IT COLONIZE - AGAINST THE GLASS.

Then, shake once between 15 & 20% colonization.
Example below, before a 'shake".

After a shake.

No need for any more shaking.

I used to shake my jars about every other day once I saw a few patches of myc growth and there would be scattered colonies though out the jars in fact even my last grow was like that once my lc is ready I am going to try it agars way this time but there has to be another reason why all his growth is at the top only

I am trying it with agars method on some rye I started a few days ago.

Some concerns I had were-

1. I was worried that as I was rotating the needle I would be splashing more up onto the jar sides above the grain than actually on the grain which would be useless.

2. I can't understand how you got the liquid to run down the sides of the glass all the way to the bottom like that. It ran perfectly as if you were doing a PF jar with the needle touching the glass on all sides. However, you only use one hole and swivel the needle 360 degrees in a circle which would seem like it would only wet the tops of the grains.

But, we'll see how it goes down eh?

well if it is only those 4 it might not be the incubator just my first guess because i tryed using a heating pad before while my TiT was full and the jars grew like that could be high cO2 collecting at the bottom but I make my lids the same as you pollyfill covered with a coffee filter so I dont think its that. could be a hidden contaim but all the jars are growing the exact same way so I dont think it is that either.
