Moisture in jars
    #4338624 - 06/26/05 06:42 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I just started growing for the first time and my jars are getting close to fully colonized and now there's alot of moisture in the jars. The water is condensing along the inside of the jars...I don't know if this is actually a bad thing but I just want to check if anyone has any suggestions or can let me know not to worry.

don't worry.

It may stall it a little, but if it's really pooling up with water, you may need to worry. You got a digital pic? That might help.

if these are brf cakes then no worries, but if it is pooling as clutch said then flip the jars so the pooling water will run down and into the verm layer to be absorbed instead of soaking the cake and possibly causing some rot to set in. good luck
peace

No I don't have any digital pics....the other thing I was worried about was I noticed that the mycelium was turning a little brownish in places.

ive just inoculated my first jars (brf/verm) and 2 of them were a lil wet (did it on purpose to see which ones would work out better, now know not to make it wet;) ) but yer they look almost fully colinised but i do have those patches of brown also, not sure if its the myc turned brown or just the stain comin out of the substrate b4 it was able to get colonised.
Still decidin on weather or not to use the wet cakes in my casin or ditch em, supose ill see how bad they are when i de-jar them.

cheers
