What am I?

I have quite the crisis when I hold conversations with my peers. Though I am a Political Science/Constitutional Law student, I have no idea what party my views coincide with. I am well aware of the platforms and ideals of each party, but my views somewhat span across all of them. When I am asked what party I am part of, I usually tell them either I am Libertarian or non-Partisan. My views are somewhat of an amalgamation of both major parties and some minor parties.
So, you wise and thoughtful political junkies, it is your job to tell me what I am, based on what details I give you.
- I 100% support rights to gay and lesbian marriage
- I 100% support the right to an abortion (other than late-term abortions)
- I believe welfare programs are inefficient, and should be done away with. At the same time, though, I feel public schools should be put under state power with more federal oversight and should be given much, much more money to work with.
- I disagree with affirmative action, but agree with its purpose. The end I understand, just not the means.
- I feel government should not meddle with the economy, other than the Fed adjusting monetary policy. Also, gov't also should have the ability to step in to stop monopolies from forming. That is all they should do, though.
- The War on Drugs is an unbelievable waste of taxpayer money, and should be halted. With this, "soft" drugs should be decriminalized and there should be clean needle facilities (see: Europe) set up.
- I believe we need to cut funding for Israel, if not to please the Middle-East, then to at least move the aid to where it is needed. Israel has proven it can fend for itself.
- I believe we need a less hostile form of diplomacy with the Middle East. While I agree Iraq needed to be done, we need to use the carrot, not the stick on the rest of the country. We need a "Middle East Bodyguard" to step up like Iran did in the late 80's-Early 90's. Make them self-sufficient.
- I think we needed to go into Iraq, just for the reason of Saddam ignoring UN Resolutions, not giving aid to his civilians, and the Oil-For-Food Fiasco. While the evidence IS there, I don't believe it was a large step in our War on Terror.
- Back to domestic policy, I think the strategy of gerrymandering has become way to prevalent in elections today, and needs to be done away with. A less arbitrary way to create voting districts must be put in place.
If you need any info to help you determine my partisanship, ask me an issue and I'll give you my stand.

Well regardless of your other political ideals, I doubt you will be accepted by any facet of the repub party with those 1st 2 up front like that.
Maybe if you slide those 2 attached to a military spending bill they won't notice.

But the fact that I think that welfare is bad and the war in Iraq was necessary pretty much keeps me out of the Democratic party.

Well, except for the public school thing, you sound like a libertarian, and public education is probably the most common area in which self-described libertarians tend to disagree with other libertarians. But realize that few people fit their label exactly. There are pro-life liberals, pro-legalization conservatives, etc. Everyone has different opinions. If you think for yourself, then most likely no label will fit 100%.

I would say you are mostly libertarian. That is the way that I lean.
I am a big advocate of school vouchers and school choice. We need to end the government monopoly on bad education. I don't understand people who are not pro choice on education.

Why do you "want" a label? Labels create stereotypes and stereotypes result in blanket judgements. Just share your opinion on each topic as they come. Any other views you hold aren't pertinent to the topic so a label in itself is pointless.

It is just easier to answer "what is your political affiliation?" with a couple words, rather than launch into some rant to explain my views.

Do you think the government should have any part in marriage?
Do you think welfare programs should be cut down or completely wiped out?
Do you support programs like Medicaid (I feel like its safe to assume you're gainst a NHS)?

I feel government should provide a license for practical matters (employess benefits, etc.), but that is it.
I don't think we can logically get rid of them. I'd like to see them gone, but I'd be content with a reduction. I also feel people should have to do something to get these benefits. If a person if claiming for unemployment, he or she should have to go menial jobs (cleaning roadsides and the like).
I am against NHS, and for the most part am against Medicaid. I feel all children should have access to health care, but that is the extent of my generosity.

Then I'd say "moderate libertarian but don't agree with the isolationalist foreign policy of the U.S.'s Libertarian Party."

I can see your trying to get me banned for flaming again. What is your problem with Libertarians, why do you hate me? I would love to tell you what you are but I don't feel like getting banned for another month. Look at what you called god when you gave me a rating of one and then apply that to yourself.

I already did. As long as you don't claim to be libertarian, I don't care what you call yourself. This thread seems self-centered and egocentric.
