My first BRF JARS
    #4336777 - 06/25/05 05:16 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I just finshed making my 1/2 pint brf jars... I mixed the brf and water together first (1.5 cups of each) than I took that mixture and mixed it in with the 3 cups of VERM... i than put the mix into the jars bout 2/3rds of the way full than i topped the jars off with dry VERM... I hope this all sounds right to you guys...
The thing Im not understanding is the whole big deal bout sterlization... If Im PC'ing these jars for 45min wouldnt all contams be gone anyhow? I was sterlie as possible... Hope all is well with what I did and the jars work. Also with the syringe that i have if i use it to innoc these 5 jars than what can I do with the remainder of the spores? Can I pc the needle(just the needle itself obviously) and reuse?

not sure which tek you read, but i would have done it a little different. mix the verm and water together and then add the brf. mix mix mix until you have a good even consistancy. it may not make any diff, but the verm will soak up a good portion of the water and not make the brf muddy. good luck

I would use the left over spores to make a Liquid Culture.

Yes you can PC the syringe when empty and re-use.

Instead of storing, make those few left over CC's into 100 more syringes. Check out Liquid Cultures, it's very easy.

If you just want to store, I wrap mine in foil in a zip-lock in the fridge.

yeah just cap it and put it in a ziploc in the fridge. yes you could just pc the needle if you want to. what a pain. the next time you go to use the syringe you can just wipe it down with alcohol, flame it until its red, wipe again and it should be good to go.
hc's suggestion of an lc is good, don't know where you are at with your cultivation skills, but that would work very well for an liquid culture.
