Misting and use of H202
    #4336523 - 06/25/05 06:10 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

I think hydrogen peroxide is the best thing ever, which is why i usually do about a 10% solution in my mister and use it to spray casings. Is this bad? Should I only spray with h202 when it is especially prone to contamination, or is it ok to always use hydrogen peroxide when misting? And also, when should you mist? In TMC it says to not mist before pin formation during mycelial knotting, but to mist alot when you have a pinset, i've usually heard the opposite on this board that misting can make pins abort. What do you guys think? Thx for all your help too my friend should have some myco porn pics soon thx to your information and help!

And also, when should you mist? In TMC it says to not mist before pin formation during mycelial knotting, but to mist alot when you have a pinset, i've usually heard the opposite on this board that misting can make pins abort. What do you guys think? Stick to the book

Thx Magash. I figured the book wouldn't lie to me. Alot of times I just turn on the ultrasonic for a 15 or 20 minute burst (which is alot in a 95 gal rubbermaid) and that mists the casings very very finely. Oh, I've got to warn you too, I'm going to come out with a ridiculous 4 tier mini greenhouse tek in a week or so...Should be the last martha type terrarium anyone will ever need! It will also be my first actual contribution to the online community here, as usually I have all the questions not the answers lol.

i've been looking into the use of hydrogen peroxide and stumbled across this:
http://www.mycomasters.com/index.html#Top

has anyone actually bought/read this guy's book? it sounds WAY to good to be true, and i can't imagine him saying anything more useful than "use h2o2 everywhere, in every step of this tek"...anyone know the details?

if you have good enough air circulation there is really no need for H202 and i have heard people say that H202 can cause aborts and uneven pinning.
