Hyoscine hydrobromide to help with mescaline nausea?
    #4334873 - 06/25/05 01:43 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Hi everyone.

I'm probably going to take some san pedro in some form or other in the next month or so and I was wondereing if motion sickness tablets (containing Hyoscine hydrobromide, an anticholinergic) taken before hand would help possible nausea at all. Are there any adverse reactions between anticholinergics and mescaline?

Also, would taking an antacid such as mylanta help with nausea?

Thanks

I strongly recommend AGAINST it.

Hyoscine = Scopolamine (one of the major Datura alkaloids)

It may increase confusion, but worse yet, add a sinister dimension and significantly increase the chance of a bad trip.

One tablet of Cyclizine an hour before dosing likely helps.
Its a kind of motion sickness pill too.

Wow OTC scopolamine tablets O_O
thats just evil!

oftentime datura-type plants (brugmansia, etc.) are indeed added to psychotropic brews such as cimora (sanpedro) and yage (caapi vine & chakruna or chaliponga leaf, etc.)...
the amount needed to calm the stomach (primarily by decreasing g.i. secretions) is quite a bit less than the amount needed to "trip out on"...
if you stick to the recommended dose you will most likely be OK...
large doses, or continuous use can sometimes seriously mess up yr mind, eh?
the tropane alkaloids can be very useful medicines, but very tricky allies (the locals in s.a. have say something like "tohay is a liar" about this plant, hehheh...)

of course there are other ways to combat nausea...
ginger spice, a little cinnamon or allspice, a puff or two of good cannabis, some chamomile tea, a tiny bit of anti-emetic med (too much may cut into the trip effects), etc...

True, but it significantly alters the nature of the experience. If you take Mescaline with half a teaspoon of powdered ginger, you experience a Mescaline trip. With Scopolamine you alter the experience. Scopolamine clouds the mind, adds to confision, induces fear and other primal emotions and is a sedative. It is potentiated by psychedelics.

So probably not a good idea even though gnrm23 is right about its co-ingestion with psychedelics.
