imo i think he is a bit of a talker not a walker. in many interviews i have seen he tried to express his views about his religion, then the next minute he snaps at the interviewer, acting all arrogant and such. so much for trying to make himself a better person.

Tom Cruise is a brain-washed douche bag. Scientology is a crock of shit.

Maybe once you are extremely rich you can no longer be satisfied with the mainstream religions.

Tom Cruise:
"I've never agreed with psychiatry, ever."
"There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance."
"I know that psychiatry is a pseudo science."
Oh and scientology isn't a pseudo science!? Gimme a break. Cruise is a freekin mad hatter these days what the hell happened?

Regardless of his beliefs and whether his beliefs are right or wrong, it didn't seem to me that he was jumping on anyone. It seemed to me that he was merely passionately expressing and defending his viewpoints. I mean, this was about HIM, wasn't it??

Yes but I'm bashing his viewpoints, not his method of expressing said viewpoints.
Plus I think he was very condecending:
Cruise:
"Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt ?"
"Here's the problem. You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do."
Fuck off Tom Cruise. And back to the topic of Cruise's "religion": Everyone should be wary of any religion that conducts itself more as a business than simply as a way of being or understanding. Scientology is right there in the ranks of Jehovah's Witnesses. It's all bullshit that someone is getting rich off of. It's just too bad seeing a celebrity fall this low. I really liked Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky and a few others. But damn this man is off his rocker.

big deal, tom cruise has this opinion..does it matter?
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Well, no. He's certainly entitled to his opinion as we all are. Be that as it may, I'm with Kosmic on this one....

Agreed. He is all surface. A life of wealth and priviledge has left him thinking that his opinion matters.

exactly, it only matters if we keep paying attention to him.

Cruise is a freekin mad hatter these days what the hell happened?
What happened is that Tom was dumb enough to (recently) fire his longtime publicist who was smart enough to keep his religious life out of the public. Now it's spilling out all over the place for everyone to see.
Having said that, I don't think what he's saying is so bad. But if he wants to maintain his popularity he should refrain from discussing religion or politics in public. No one hires a clown to fix their john and no one needs Tom Cruise dispensing religious advice.

Don't get me wrong my opinion doesn't really matter either....but someone who has lived with the rose colored glasses of extreme wealth permanently fixed to their face somehow gets this idea that their opinion is more significant than other people's opinion. He is a shallow human. Not all celebrities are like that, but many are...and from previous interviews I know Cruise to be among the most egocentric of them.

Can you imagine if we were all celebs here at S&P, and all quoted in the media. That's funny, and the same as listening to the words of an actor. They ACT for a living remember.HA!
