When friends freak out...

What happens to you guys when you've taken mushrooms or acid and after a while your buddy who's there tripping with you freaks out begging on his knees "WHERE AM I" ...
do you get SCARED SHITLESS in a flash but then cool down...
Or is your trip ruined already and you know you'll end up in some bad place ? ...
So what happens when your friend(s) go bad and nothing you do helps to quickly calm them down.

You should know your friends better than this. I don't trip with unexperienced trippers, the people I call buddies may get loose, but they handle it, or at most mention how they are out of it nd want you to keep an eye on them ect....Were talkng 3.5 to 6 gram doses also, so I think you should be carefull for what kind of setting you set yourself up in....

Yeah i know this by now... i thought it was cause of the dose that he freaked out around 3.2g dry but after a while i gave it another try with about 1.5g... a dose he already did a few times without problems but again it went bad ... from the start ... i didn't really see why cause it was really mellow anyway... i don't trip with him anymore (he doesn't trip anymore either so...) cause i know it'll probably go bad again... no matter what dose.
All in all tripping with 2 people is very intense cause it's just YOU and the other person, can be tense at times...

Once I was tripping with this kid i used to take a lot of acid with and i was rambling about just some random shit, i don't remember what and he told me to "Just calm down" because he didn't know what i was talking about. So that pissed me off and i told him he sounded like my mom and he didn't say anything for the rest of the car ride (about half an hour). I was just giving him shit but he thought i was serious...oh well at least it gives me a laugh when i think about it now.

nobody i trip with ever freaks out, the main friend i do trip with (who introduced me to acid) is probably the best trip buddy i can think of ... he's brought me out of frightening trips and has made my happy trips evern better. he gives off this happy-go-lucky vibe that is just great and a grin that you never get tired of. and with him you know he will never freak out at all because his first time dosing he took 7 hits (though that was a bad trip, because his friend who tripped with him and gave him the acid refused to tell him what it did) and in that trip the ground rolled in GIANT waves and he actually believed he was gonna drown ... he just can't get scared, he loves acid too much.
i guess the only drawbacks to him are that he likes to go to sleep RIGHT after the peak because he starts to get depressed or bored, and that he is quite anti-social. he might sit there and say a few things, but mostly he is just extremely introverted and is just in his own head not realizing im there. when i talk he kinda has a look on his face that says SHUTUP with a kind of sarcasm to it, i dunno ... all in all i couldnt ask for a better buddy tho, with him I kinda feel safe because he won't ever freak out.
hah i forgot to mention that his second trip was on 6 hits, where he was forced to sit with his parents the whole trip and carry on a conversation .. that was quite...odd...but he was fully in control

i passed out in a trip once too, although im a lot smaller than that one guy. it was really weird but it didn't bother me to much. for pretty much the whole trip i was laying down on my couch in the dark. i had to get up to go to the bathroom. i went in there and had to turn on the lights, but i knew it was gonna suck to see all that light. sure enough, as soon as i turned on the light, i was overstimulated or something. i dont know what happened, but i started getting reeal weak, and the next thing i know im on the bathroom floor rocking back and forth, and i dont remember how i went down. when i came to i crawled out of the bathroom and layed down on the floor in the hall for a minute or two, which felt really good

Depends.
Once I got a little nervous and tried to calm my friend down by talking. He wasn't yelling or anything. He just told me he was really tripping hard and started walking down the street in a huff. I couldn't get any response out of him for a while. I was kinda scared, but then he started responding and I felt better.
oh wait, I'm talking about DXM...

usually when a person is on a bad trip at first they won't say anything, and maybe they won't say anything the entire time. you want to say "im freaking" but you really cant, for some reason, especially when u are extremely gone.

my buddy was kind of literally hanging on to me ... when he realized the "bad vibes"... he was shaking and really trying to hold on to me... he needed me to say his name so he would still know it was ok..... but no matter he freaked....
Uhm he wasn't sure of anything anymore....not even if i REALLY was there... or if he was just thinking it all.... and he thought it might have been this way all the time ...but only now noticing it ... etc...

ya it can happen, every acid trip (and on higher dose shroomie trips) I tend to forget I ever had a life before the trip or that there ever be a life after the trip, the entire world is just the trip ... this CAN be scary, but it doesn't get to me too much. on trips sometimes i get claustraphobic in rooms, sometimes sending me on bad trips, but usually this goes away quickly

Yeah i totally understand ur post. I get that feeling a lot. Once on shrooms all alone, I couldn't quite remember what it is i did to fill up my time. I was saying to myself , that i couldn't imagine there is else to do but trip on shrooms. I couln't recall anything about myself or my 'friends'. All that seemed pretty insignificant. I was in ecstatic bliss and it was the "only" thing to do. Then i started hearing the mushroom man talk back to me, and it got a little freaky.

I've never been around anyone who 'freaked out lost it ' but my own worst experiences have always been around people I just didn't feel comfortable with...in situations I felt were beyond my control. i.e. feeling stuck at some dumbass' house with no ride.Or the drug comes on quicker than you thought and you're stuck driving on the highways when it seems too dangerous to 'blend' or take your eyes off the road etc.Sometimes I just have too much shit on my mind too...and I know that tripping would open like TEN cans of worms when I'm trying to deal with five already.I think the experience of forgetting 'who' you are is called 'ego loss'...and can be quite fun. DXM did this to me frequently and ruthlessly...ever heard of janus vu (i think it's called)
it's where you sorta 'forget' what common things are...like your stove and your face ...you remember the NAME but everything else is COM-PLETELY ALIEN all the same.
I can still remember looking in what I ,somehow, remembered was a 'mir-ror' and being absolutely HORRIFIED by what was staring (horrified) back at me.
It was ...just........very...very...weird!

yes a lot seems normal, though at the same time very alien and unfamiliar (hence why it can get scary, you just aren't used to all this new shit that's happening, and you can't just run away or close your eyes, it stays with you). On my 3 1/2 hit acid trip I was trying to turn the TV off right after the peak ended because I couldn't stand the ending of Alice in Wonderland (at the time, that is, I started really bad tripping for reasons I have explained many times before), it was just too depressing and made my trip that much worse. well i picked up the remote control and stared at it for like 5 minutes (literally) trying to figure out which one was the power button (it looked like a giant cartoon control) so i just assumed that pushing buttons would turn it off somehow. luckily i did, but it took me fuckin forever. and the next day i looked at the remote and it says POWER in giant letters, which i apparently didnt see the night before, hehe. kinda makes me feel stupid
mirrors are a very common cause for bad tripping, as many people see very disturbing shit in mirrors (I usually see spikes coming out of my morphing face, which doesn't look like me at all, it's frightening) If you are on a trip where you are already confused about what is what and who is who, then looking in a mirror is just the worst idea ever. its best to leave your own body out of the whole tripping experience (aside from moving and talking occassionally) and just look at everything else. if "you" aren't there then there is nothing to be scared of

Yeah i think that's true ... if you start to think too much about your body. You can find a lot to worry about i guess.
What's very strange is the feeling i got in my stomach after or during the peak experience... first it all builed up and became very intense...and very good... then for some reason (maybe my buddy freaking out) i got a bubbeling scrambling feeling of my intestins... this feeling wasn't painfull....but it felt as though my intestins and belly was crawling around inside me... i don't know if this is because i was nauseaus or because it happened because my buddy freaked out...
It's a very strange feeling like your some kind of blubber inside... anyone else experiences this ? and if it isn't due to bad feelings...could it be due to the mushrooms making your stomach upset ?
thx

engaging the sensorium... putting on some mellow music, having a simple snack (fresh fruit or some juice, or a cup of herbal tea or hot cocoa), a hug and encouraging words ("we're here with you and everythings OK"), an offer of a calming medication ("would you like 10 mg of valium, or 250 mg of niacinamide?" (assuming that niacinamide is more than a "mere placebo")...), turn down the light and light a few candles, read appropriate passages form relevant texts (leary's _psychedelic prayers_ has some nice verses), offer a foot massage, have a nice glass of mulled wine, have them stand barefoot on the earth (& tell them it will allow the to become grounded...)

All I do is talk to my friends when they freak out. I think too many people see that their friend is freaking out and they think "well, that dude just can't handle it. If I try and talk them down it is just going to fuck up my trip."
If you're really a friend to this person, all they really need is your support. Freaking out is really just a matter of getting caught up in the muck that is in your mind; fear, doubt, sadness, etc. If you have faith in yourself, your trip, and your friend that is freaking out, you should go talk to them, as you should whenever they feel shitty about themselves.
On my last trip, which was real intense, one of my friends just completely freaked out. I was having an amazing trip, and didn't want to feel his bad vibes, but I sat him down by a tree and talked to him for a long time. I was feeling completely positive and happy, and I could tell that simply my presence and the attention I was paying him helped him out a lot. I ended up having a better trip because I felt like I conquered his hang-ups for him. It made a connection.
