Pressure Cooker Instructions

I bought a PC at a rummage sale and it didn't come with any instructions. Everything is still in the plastic bags. There's a round pressure gauge that screws on to the top. And a convex plate with holes in it, I assume that is my rack. That much I have figured out. It's a Mirro 8 qt. I put about an inch of water in and I have my jars ready to go. Anyone have this kind of PC that can tell me what to do next, and what to expect as the thing heats up?

I emailed wearever and they are going to send me a manual free. and they have a pdf of the manual on their website. I winged it w/o the manual. And now my jars are cooling.
