    #4327524 - 06/23/05 04:40 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

An imcomplete version of viola lee blues.  here's the info i have on it...

Grateful Dead
Monterey Pop Festival, Fairgrounds
Monterey, CA
6/18/67 - Sunday

Viola Lee Blues

--The Following it the Deadlists.com entry for this date--

Band Grateful Dead
Venue Monterey Pop Festival, Fairgrounds
Location Monterey, CA
Date 6/18/67 - Sunday

Set One Cold Rain And Snow ; Viola Lee Blues ; Alligator > Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)

Comments Alligator > Caution may not be from Monterey. What makes me suspicious is that at the conclusion of Caution, Bill Graham is heard to say something like "let's hear it for the Grateful Dead." Bill Graham was not the emcee at the Monetery Pop Festival, so it's doubtful he would introduce the band from the stage. However, some folks have speculated that since Graham was in attendance and a friend of the Dead, he might have done the intro and or the outro as a "guest emcee." The Alligator is a curiosity; it's a very primordial version without vocals

Recordings (50) SB. Cold Rain And Snow And Viola Lee Blues from master reel > 1 cassette generation > DAT > circulation; also Alligator (without vocals) > Caution from master reels > DAT > circulation.

Contributors Jeff Tiedrich .
Unfortunatly, it's only about 9 minutes of viola.. but still cool...  They were not suppost to film the dead, but apparently they did it anyway

On a mission to prove that the truth gets you no where.
They tried the truth, It didn't work. Then they wrote the bible.

Only the foolish fear the inevitable.
