The Chavin San Pedro God is the heavyweight champ here. Mescalito and the ill defined mushroom Gods better step aside. He had big teeth, 6 inch claws, snakes for hair, looks angry...and he is carrying a big peice of San Pedro to boot. He looks like he didn't take no shit.

I've talked with Gaia while being knocked out by 8 bears, and she said she does have claws, but being a true logical sceptic I doubt that Gaia was honest with me. Sometimes those imaginary hallucinatory beings can be dishonest to you

In any event I am sure that the San Pedro god would impress her with his huge "cactus", and she would become his slave.

They would realize that violence isn't any way to solve a problem and then sit down to smoke a bowl and talk things over.

The Mushroom Gods are Aztec....the San Pedro God is Peruvian. Both of these guys require human sacrifices BIG TIME. They love violence.

Apparently the 'physical body' of Mescalito - Lophophora Williamsii - is not too kind on the liver (despite the notion that the liver is called the liver because some ancient Greeks fancied that it was the 'place of the soul' - the one who 'lives'), whereas The Little Ones - Psilocybians are relatively non-toxic. Of course, minus that baeocystein stuff that's in one or two species. So, Mescalito is tougher on human beings.

Interesting. What is your source?
I get a hangover from shrooms, but not from mescaline. That is my subjective, non-scientific measure of toxicity.

Well let's compare the two:
Here's the Mushroom God -
Here's Mescalito -
I dunno, it seem to me that the fat and happy Mushroom God would just squish poor, skinny Mescalito....
Hope that helps!

Lophophora has many other alkaloids than just mescaline. Mescaline is non-toxic under roughly 7 grams, but some of the other alkaloids are harmful to the liver as Markosthegnostic indicated. San Pedro, however, has no such drawback.

Well now, it's past 1:00 AM and you've caused me to look through old tomes to find the source of my comment, which I now should retract based on comment by Peter Stafford in his Psychedelics Encyclopedia. I have long held to the somewhat more toxic amphetamine based, non-indole, catecholamine psychedelics as being toxic to the liver: Asarone and B-Asarone in Calamus along with TMA (a precursor to mescaline), MDA which is markedly more toxic than MMDA, etc. However, Stafford says on p.135:
Because mescaline lodes primarily in the liver, some concern has been expressed about its use by those with liver ailments. It is worth noting that during the 1950s and 1960s this drug was given to a number of alcoholic mental patients, many of whom had severely diseased livers, with little untoward effect.
Well, thanks for the incentive to correct my info! That's nice to know, even though I've never had but one peyote button to chew up in my life, and gave another to an anthropolgy professor in college.
OK, well, the buttons do make many people vomit more than shrooms do (William James became "violently ill" for 24 hours on just one button [wussy]). I think a lot fewer folk puke on shrooms (although I still have an ancient High Times Magazine where Andrew Weil wrote a story called 'Throwing Up in Mexico'). So, Peyote still wins as the tough guy. Wanna compare Morning Glory seeds?

Not contradicting, but adding my own personal experience. Have done peyote twice and didn't wretch either time. Haven't puked on shrooms either.
While the taste is indeed nasty beyond belief, some opine that vomiting may be due to eating the indigestible tufts and/or from the gag reflex rather than the mescaline. Of course the 30+ alkaloids may also contribute.
San Pedro and Peruvianus cause nausea, but that seems to be more from the excessive amount needed to get sufficient mescaline and may be due to bloating or improper digestion of the fibrous plant.

I'll just assume when you say 'Mushroom God' you're talking about Teonanactl... In which case, that Aztec would beat the silly Yanqui to a green pulp. Mescalito is a great teacher, but a fighter? I don't think so.
