ports and honeywater
    #4316891 - 06/20/05 12:01 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I got some spores from ports out of the store and put them into honeywater that has been microwaved. A week later this crap that looks like plaque off of teeth is sitting on the bottom of the jar. The tek I read said that it will turn milky and then start to grow the myceila, is this plaque crap what they were refering to as milky? I left it at my moms house for about three weeks now so I dont know what it looks like and should it take longer because its port spores?

your ports probably wont germinate in a lc, port spores need the gas that live mycelium gives off to germinate. They will also germinates with bacteria or mold spores which also wouldnt be good in an lc. best bet is to put port spores on a dish and transfer some live, clean mycelium from any species to the side of the dish and seal it. Once the ports germinate transfer away.
