Weirdest Fungi I have ever seen... what the hell is it?
    #4325602 - 06/22/05 06:03 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

My mum found these just by our concrete drive way, growing in wet soil and a little amount of wood chips. We're in central Victoria, Australia.

The balls you see in the picture were wrapped up inside of the fungii along on the right hand side. When pulled out, they did not appear to be attached in any way.
I have attached a photo of everything, and also a close-up of the main bit where the balls come from.

yeah those stinkys look awesome but smell like a fuckin rotting corpse....When I hunt P. cyanescens I always come across these pink geometric latices that look like a spongy material. Its the worst smell imaginable though...funny thing is the "alien eggs" they hatch from have smell like shitake to the "T" IMO. And the mycelium was as strong as a healthy plants roots when I would pull em up. In fact I thought it was some sort of strange onion when I first came across it. Then I found a few with the familiar pink latices growing from it..thought Id share..does it stink by the way?

Don't worry, I'm not going to eat it, yuck...

I can't really remember if they smelt too much, but I've got a feeling that they did, because I wasn't too game to get close to it.
All this disgusting greeny slime substance got all our our fingers when we handled it too.

Ergh, I think I'll stick to my Psilocybe Subaeruginosa
