Destiny's 3-Legged Child
    #4325071 - 06/22/05 04:04 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

A baby born with a third leg in Detroit is being called a one-in-a-million case by her doctors, according to a Local 6 News report.

"What destiny has was a twin that was attached to her, but really only the sort of lower half of that other twin," pediatric surgeon Dr. Daniel Teitelbaum said. "So, a leg, her hips, her pelvis."

The baby's mother said she did not know that Destiny had a third leg until after birth.
"After the NIC unit came down and looked at her, that's when I found out that there was an extra leg attached to her," Destiny's mother Lisa Lunsford said.

Lunford said she is praying for her daughter's full recovery.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

If it was one in a million, there'd be a hell of a lot of humans walking around with three legs.

I'm guessing it's rarer than that.

So long as you are praised think only that you are not yet on your own path but on that of another.

My boyfriend has a 3rd leg, so it can't be that rare.  :smirk:

Remember, remember the fifth of November
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
