Extraction from colonized straw
    #432491 - 10/21/01 05:13 PM (21 years, 11 months ago)

Iv been thinking of alcohol extracting alkaloids from mycelium in straw because I cant get my straw beds to fruit.
If this is practical I could colonize beds to spawn larger beds for extraction and have a perpetual thing goin and not have to worry about PCing jars anymore.
How does extraction compare to fruiting as far as dose yields go?
Is it possible to extract from straw?

Thanks alot yall

Stick with trying to fruit on straw usually all it takes is time. Often lots of time. Extraction would certainly be messy and who knows what all else would be in the extract. I have often tried to use colonized straw to spawn new straw but it doesn't work. Apparently there are too few neutrients in straw to continue the process.

I once seen a few fruit on nothing but pasterized straw in an 10 gallon aqurium that sat above water in a larger 29 gallon tank. Rye was used for spawn. (PF strain) The mycelum grew down a good 6 or more inches and then just stop gwing downward. (word has it that it took like 6 months to get to that stage). At that point, with absolutel no casting the thing fruited like crazy.
