the day that would not end
    #4324702 - 06/22/05 02:22 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

This day is dragging by SO SLOWLY.  Typically, when I get a lot done at work, the day goes by quickly because I'm occupied.  Well, not today.  I've been busy ALL day, and the clock seems to be going backwards  :mad2:

I got 3 hours of sleep last night, took 4 percs, and I'm not in any mood to sit at my desk for another 2 hours and 39 minutes.

So, pubbers, post with me.  Make my day go by faster, and I will be forever indebted to you.

check out the videos on www.funnyhub.com

There is some good shit on there.

I remember when I was in high school I had a job in the back of a bowling alley. I was there to make sure the machines didn't mess up. It is was un-god damn-believably boring. You just sat back there and did nothing. I once did a 9 hour shift and I think I started to go insane. I felt like I was in some kind of time warp.

My computer at work is like nazi-run.  I can't even play that game :frown:

I can't go on IRC because there's no Java enabled.

I can't go on AIM because they yelled at me for it.

I can, however, sit here and post on the shroomery as a rebellion against this institution.

well when I got in this morning, I was all psyched for a good day. there was NO traffic this morning, my coffee was yummy, and up until like 9:55 the time flew. Then, it just stopped. It's like I'm on Queludes (sp?) or something, everything is slow motion.

I used to have a job that required me there at 6:30 in the morning with no managers around ever and rarely any customers to deal with. I would sleep on the floor until 10 or 11 sometimes.

My old job was awesome.  I set my own hours, meaning, I woke up whenever I woke up, went to work, and left at about5 or 6, regardless of when I got there.  I could smoke at my desk (I don't smoke anymore, but it was cool at the time)  my boss used to hook me up with drugs, and I had free red sox season tickets.  AND I worked less than a mile from my house, so I would wake up, smoke, and stumble my way to work.

I shouldn't complain...I love my job now.  It's just one of "those" days.  You guys know how it is

My job now is so-so. It's far from where I live, I'm allowed to smoke at my desk, its 9-5, I smoke pot with the boss and others all the time in the board room, the boss is an asshole at the same time but I can surf the internet and do what I want and it's more or less doing what I want to be doing.

Dude...I have you beat when it comes to jobs that were unbelievably lax or easy.

I worked in this warehouse for about six months or so. I was supposed to be there at 8 am. I was supposed to put in 8 hours of work (I could leave at 4 pm if I took no lunch..or at 4:30 pm if I took a 30 minute lunch). I would wake up at 9:30 am. I would get into work at 10. I would usually take an 1 1/2 hour lunch. I would fuck around on the internet while I was there. Then I would leave at about 2 or so. And I got paid for 40 hours. My supervisor didn't give a shit.

Damn...those were the days.

My commute now isn't so bad.  Takes me roughly 1/2 hour to get here in the morning, like 40 minutes or so to get home.  They're really laid back about most stuff here, and all my managers/co workers are really young and cool.  Plus I make pretty good money for a 22 yr old girl without a diploma
Still though, I can't wait til I own like 19 houses and live off other people's rent.  Fuck work.  :smirk:

Word. That's my plan as well. And then I'll start a management service so I don't even have to deal with landlord bullshit.

Yeah, if you're handy enough, landlord bullshit isn't usually a big deal.  It's key to know a lot of contractors/general handymen/plumbers and whatnot so that if shit DOES go wrong, you have someone on your side to call up to fix it for fairly cheap.  Plus, having been inthe mortgage business for many years, I know how to draw up a lease agreement that will cover my ass on a lot of shit.  Management companies are the way to go though, definitely, once you're making a ton of money and can afford to pay someone else to worry for you :yesnod:

I have no sound on this computer.  But, I will watch it when I get home.  That seems just like the kind of immature humor that suffer would enjoy watching with me

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.
