No need.

Floaters supply lignin & other good things. Under 5% sunflower seeds supply cellulose from the husk & lipids (oils) from seed inside. Soak 24 hours, rinse & drain well & you are on the way.

#5 is after PC'ing.

PS.....If there is a PETCO store in your town, BIRD BASICS WBS is $8 per 40 lb bag .

its okay if when you are threw pc'ing and have nocc'd if there is a small amount of water (barely moving) in the bottom of the jars, right?....not enough to freely flow but just enough to barely puddle

There should not be any water pooled, or pooling in the bottom of any wbs/rye/grain jar. Bet - you a spore syringe - there will be problems with those jars.

Figure it out yourself. Myc will colonize wheat straw, like wildfire.
Floating husks are very much like wheat straw bits.

I rinse (very well) in a big collender & don't lose anything, except sludge.
I also drain very well.

30 hours after shaking.

Yes I do rinse. Think made mistake of rinsing with tap water last try. Those jars turned dark and some slimed out on me(Pheonix water..BLEH!). 2 are okay, but slow growth. Am planning on innoculating with syringe, so I take it, remove em.

I would not waste a syringe on wbs jars, with any pooled, or pooling water in the bottom.

Get yourself an inline faucet filter, for your tap water. Or, worst case, a faucet filter. That helps.

you might be able to save the jars, if you could expose them to a little extra heat, for a day - which should cause a lot of moisture loss. If the pooled water disapates quickly? Then inoculate them. Just a thought.

When I slowly rotate those 2 jars, the uncolonized BS seperates, like it might be dry. Or is it good, that they aren't clumping together?

Yeah, the tek said shake after 5 days or so, so I did it...only to read later that it is in fact bad to shake jars after spore germination begins to spread. Go figure. Hoping this try is better. working with only bottled spring water from rinsing to PCing in. I'll remove floaters and proceed according to WBS tek. Going to have to use a syringe, unless I use the cardboard agar substitution(not ready for agar).
