Happy Summer Solstice
    #4320244 - 06/21/05 10:25 AM (18 years, 8 months ago)

Today, the sun reaches its northernmost point in the sky for the year so today is the longest day of the year for those of us in the northern hemisphere.

Relax, it's not the end of the world.

Is today a good day to trip? Will there be more "energy" from the earth and sun alignment and position?  :mushroom2:

No, it is just an excellant excuse to do what you were going to do anyway.

I actually get sad knowing the days will be shorter and that winter is coming.  :frown:

It is the first day of summer...that is really premature.

I've been there in July, it was only 110 or 112 degrees. Great for walking especially after being in your air conditioned hotel.

Or enjoying the "free" sauna...

Ahhh... that's what I love about Fort Lauderdale.

Down here, everyone just basks in gentle 2 knot sea breezes (or runs from 200 knot weather disasters). :whoa:

Ha ha, summer fun started here in florida last March. I'm back in June now. Reading about this being the longest sunlight day, the next thought is of how they will now progressively be getting shorter :frown: and lead to winter. :frown:

I'm a night owl and sleep in late. In the winter, I only get like 4 or 5 hours of sunlight a day and it sucks. I want 24/7 sun. I'm one of those who gets depressed and lethargic without sunlight, and yet am 100% nightowl. Nature can be so freakin cruel.

Sorry to rain on the happy soltice. It's just been cloudy and rainy here in this secotor of the "Sunshine State" (my  :ass:) I'm going to go postal if I don't get some serious sunshine round here.

Mmmmmmmmmust.............hhhhhhhhhhave............ssssssun :drooling:
