azure bed update
    #432161 - 10/21/01 09:44 AM (23 years, 7 months ago)

Because i got some PM from people asking me about the azure beds i made some pics.

Unfortunately the weather in The Netherlands is relavtively warm and dry for this time of year, so it's not fruiting yet. I still have high hopes as the bed looks very healthy. Fresh mycelium popping up through the casing layer.

I just checked the site of the Royal Dutch Metereological Institute and it seems that by average the temperatures in october were 3oC higher than normal.

Minimum (night)temperatures for the next week are around 9oC....hmmmmmm, hope that's cold enough for them

Here in Germany it was also too warm. Last week we had even 24 C... My bed is also waiting ...

I think that you may want some more leaf debry on your bed. Mine is typically almost an 1/2 to 1 inch thick.

I can't wait to see that thing fruiting. This has inspired me to start a few beds next year, provided I can get a little more experience with the species first.
