Pf Cakes with the basic set up... Edit New pics!!
    #4319214 - 06/20/05 11:26 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Now a few weeks ago i promised to show you huys how easy the pf tek was. Here is the first setup, just like the mmgg says. using a spray bottle, no drip sheild, no fanning, no perlite, no straws. I spray them directly and the water beads up on top. This isnt a massive flush, its just show how easy it is.

damn! no perlite. it goes to show you just how hardy that fungus really is. i also use the pf cakes, but with perlite; however, i have a buddy in malaysia that uses plastic cups and a turkey baster to inject cause he can't get supplies down there. he sends me pics all the time of his flushes.

you can stick drinking straws into the cakes and will them with water. the cakes will drink a straws worth of water a day. Much more then what they will absoarb when dunking them. here they are today. looks like I will print the one laying on the ground in the water

the one in the water should have the least amount of contams because it is not in the main airstream

Hey, a quick question... can you use the straw method to add water to casings?

depends on the substrate, most likely yes but it doesnt work as well. The straw adds moisture to the sub the same way a wet casing does.
