mirro p-cooker problem
    #432128 - 10/21/01 08:46 AM (23 years, 3 months ago)

Hi.. i have a 22 qt mirro pressure cooker
I think I broke it.. I left it on the stove for about 5 hours..
and the bottom is now bent outwards..
and now when I use it, steam escapes through the cracks around the lid.. I replaced the gasket even and it still happens..
I dont know what is wrong.. perhaps the actual metal is bent out of shape somehow? but it looks fine..
any recommendations on a pressure cooker brand or model because I think I will have to buy another one.

they all seem to do the trick. The main key is not to leave them on the stove for 5 hours........

Hey Liquid,
Try soaking the gasquet in hot water for 15 minutes before use. If it doesn't seal that way, try lubricating it with cooking oil, but use the oil sparingly. If that doesn't work, I recommend you say fuck Mirro because their pressure cookers are obsolete. Why deal with changing gasquets and bullshit leaks when you can get an ALL AMERICAN PRESSURE COOKER that works like a goddamn charm! It was the best investment I've ever made...
