What is best tek for WBS ?
    #4320691 - 06/21/05 02:54 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I'm fairly new to growing, and just had my 1st success doing the BRF cakes and am ready to step up to WBS. I've done some reading in the grain based spawn and substrates section, and was wondering if someone could reccomend the best tek to use (especially for a beginner)

Thanks !

P.S - check out what I got today at the thrift store...for $1.98 !

good find on the p.c.

all the grain teks are pretty straightforward though, soak simmer PC innoc case. or if you're a daring first timer spawn to poo

edit: forgot to add in the pressure cooking part

Good find on that little PC. It will get you started.

I wrote THIS WBS TEK in another life.

It still holds its weight.

#5 is after PC'ing.

I would have to say Agar's WBS tek is much better.

http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23619

The WBS comes out with a much better moisture content and colonizes for me in about 6-8 days. With Koh Samui...

Don't shake after you inoculate. Wait till it is about 20-30% done.. then shake it good. Don't shake again.

Hey folks,
Thanks for the advice...Agars tek with the photos looked pretty straight forward and simple. (Plus I do know from my reading here during the last 6 weeks that this guy is a person to listen to when they give their opinion !)

I think I'll try it and maybe do the horse shit thing next try...I hate failure, so I'll be happy with taking this hobby 1 step at a time.

Thanks to all the great people at the shroomery for making this new hobby so fun....and rewarding !
