i just bought a tiny venus fly trap and i was wondering what to plant it in amd if anyone else has any  :tongue:

Those things are surprisingly hard to look after, just dont feed it any flies until its bigger

planting in peat and watering with rain water or distilled water is reccomended.

ya i just read some stuff i pulled off of google. it sounds like it would do good in my PMP but i have h2o2 in there.

Yeah, the no flies thing is coz the branch that eats the fly generally shrivles up, goes brown and dies.In the wild fly traps hardly ever catch anything,(they are fucken slow at closing) I think i read some where its only to supply trace nutrients but its an energy expensive process. I used to have some when I was little and they all ended up full of flies and dead haha.

dont give it tap water, that has too much chloride and stuff.
use rainwater if u can.
keep it standing in an inch or 2 of water.
repotting prolly isnt neccecery, the root is a small bulb and doesent need much space.
if u do repot itll need acidic soil that is devoid of nutrients.
peat/sand is good, make sure the sand is clean with no minirals etc.
dont feet it anything other then insects wich are no bigger then a third of the trap.
if it makes a flower stalk cut it off as soon as u see it.
dont ever fertilise.
