Autoclavable petri dish rack? anyone made one?

I've recently ordered one, but it won't be here for a while, and i'm not sure i'll like it. Has anyone made one. I liked the stainless steel can style ones i've seen for $80, but a few of those would be quite expensive. I'm pretty handy, but can't think of what to make one from. I've got an AA921, so some kind of round multi sectional thing would be nice. I was thinking of bending up some wire and using pipe flux solder. any ideas?

i use autoclavable plastic bags.. i had different racks that i tried for awhile but none seemed to fit right and the dishes i would use often times wouldnt fit exactly right in them..
now i just use the bag, stack up some dishes as high as the bag is wide and wrap it up, i only do one stack per bag... and i reuse the bags.. works great for me but if the dishes sit in water they get soaked and there is a bunch of standing water on the bottom.. a real pita.. i really like the AA sterilizers as they have very little water that gets to the bottom of the inside holder thing in the PC...
hope this helped

If you go to the local specialty pipe shop, you can almost def find some very thin mild steel, or even chrome-moly if you look hard enough. I bet stainless isnt too hard to find either. If you wanna go the cheap route, head over to home depot or whatever, and get yourself a few of the metal dowell rods. Cut, bend, and weld into whatever shape you need
Hope that helped ~woj

I went to the depot and was looking at some half inch copper pipe and fittings to make a rack out of. I just wish they had four way fittings. all i can find is elbows and T's. I'm guessing that's all they make. I'll post the results if i finish the project.
