Mutating Receptor Sites??
    #4317436 - 06/20/05 04:52 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Yes.. hello... this is my first post here.
I am well aquainted with sacred use of mushrooms but have never grown them.

A question arises regarding the use of growing cultures.

My thinking goes like this... : SURELY, the growing of cannabis under lights denies the plant its thirst for real solar photons. I believe the resulting greenery is out of balance.

and so....

I am drawn to enquire about the differences (no matter how subtle) between a mushroom growing wild in natural conditions and growing from cultures sold commercially.

For those in the know, do you think we are re-programming the receptor sites in our bodies for psychedelic foods of the future??

hmmm... comments??

yep i know... im just theorising - because the micro co-factors in soil and vast underground complexes of mycelium are not present in the home growing of shrooms, then is it possible we are injesting an altered form of psylocybin? and therefore in some evolutionary preparation for the future (which may be completely reliant on home growing kits if the governments have their ways), may we be mutating ourselves accordingly?? i.e - actually being instrumental in the next physical evolutionary step (given especially that mushrooms are mutagens as well as entheogens)...

I've spent over 35 years trying to mutate, alter, or even destroy my own receptors with little or no noticeable effect. A mushrooms own mutagenic capabilities to adapt to it's environment negate any change to it's inherent chemical makeup. The mushrooms own chemical balances my be altered slightly presenting the varied results recognized during a bio assay, however the individual chemicals do not themselves change in structure or composition.
It's my opinion the any fundamental evolutionary changes occurring in the human genome, is a natural progression to our own next level of existence, not something that can be induced. Although, the ingestion of certain ethnogens could certainly ease the transition.

Yo Spoke,

Hey just a tip.  You might get some more responses if you asked the mods to move this over to advanced mycology.

Just an idea.

Take care :tongue2:
