Unidentified polypore

What is this? Found growing off of living live oak root in deep south. Largest fruit is about 8 inches across. It has a 2 inch yellow stalk. Shaded, riparian environment. Took a long time to grow from very large white pin. Ganoderma?

Very nice find. Actually, I am not sure you have a ganoderma, though--see LouiseLouise' ganoderma post for a color description of the ganodermas.

I knew I saw a post recently, been busy everywhere else
The ones I found do not resemble those. They may be Ganoderma, but don't apear to be lucidum or tsugae.
If I get closer to an ID for you, I'll edit this reply.

These are both locally wild Ganoderma lucidium, altough one has a white cap. Am I correct. So where do you draw the line? I have gone through alot of google and don't see anything to show me the way. I'm going to take samples of all three.

Good pics. I am beginning to believe the browner one is lucidum b/c of the "knot behind the cap. The white ones, like mine also don't show that.

I'm still workin on prints, Tthat's where you draw the line.
