Psilocybin/psilocin soluble in alcohol??

I am having trouble finding information on the solubility of psilocybin and psilocin in ethanol.

I'd like to get some everclear or other very-high-proof alcohol and store psilocybin and psilocin that way. But is that possible?

I reckon you would know the solubility of psilocybin considering the method you'll be using to extract it.

Void the smart ass remark - yes, psilocybin is soluable in alcohol.

Yes, it is soluble in ethanol. However I would imagine it is more susceptible to oxidation and breakdown in such a solution, so unless you store it in a sub-freezing CO2 (or some other inert gas) environment, it could break down faster. Good luck!

Why not just dry them?

They will last a LONG time dried.

My cat's interested in being able to have a dose of shrooms per shot of alcohol, so that he can pour a shot into a drink, and dose up that way.

if you have enough shrooms, go for it.

it seems chewing would be reliable, but i could understand if you didn't want to do that. let's face it, shrooms aren't cheeseburgers.

the point of using dried mushies is that putting water/wet mushies in the alcohol would dampin the soluibility of the alcohol
