sorry if this question has been asked before, i used the search engine and could not find what i was looking for. with that out of the way, here is the question:

which part of the passion flower plant contains the highest content of harmaline (the vine, flowers, unopened buds, etc), or is the content of this MAOI consistant throughout the entire plant??

thanks for the help everyone!

To save you the trouble...

If you are looking into passion flower for MAO inhibition for "conventional" use ,look somewhere else. The concentration is low in the plant, actually if you search around many posts you can see some experiments with it (type passion flower as search string and username Ytse , he has written an extensive report).

Aside that its a very good relaxant.

From what i hear leaves have nice concentrations,where nice i mean propably the higher.

I confirm Psilomans word.

*The concentration of harmala alkaloids is too low to be used as an inhibitor. Even after an extraction , apart from that some "other" (not very pleasurable) substances are present

*Its also true that leaves have the higher concentration. The flowers should have the higher concentration of the "other" substances and its better to be avoided!

The report (It should be at Erowid as well)

For unrestricted use, the West has permitted alcohol and tobacco;
all other chemical Doors in the Wall are labeled Dope,
and their unauthorized takers are Fiends.
