Brf Project
    #4313155 - 06/19/05 07:00 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Hey everyone im about to get my project started Neglect tek style, Im just looking for some certainty this will work. I have a bin 1 foot tall by 20 inches by 20 inches. It was bought at this exact size so it fits perfectly 6 1/2 pints by 6 1/2 pint jars meaning a total number of 36. Its in the exact same bin with a heater @ 80 deg.
During fruiting the jars are simply put upside down and the top of the bin is put on wich has a light in it, or should i use the lid with plexiglasse window?

Seeing as when fruiting invitro u dont need humidity since they stay perfectly humid in the jars this bin would b perfect for Incubation, pinning and fruiting right?

These jars usually yeild a good 7 grams dry would 36 pints mean a 1/2 pound of dry mushrooms if all goes well?

Thanks guys any input is appreciated. :mushroom2:  :smirk:

fruiting invitro, don't turn the jars upside down. just remove the lids, drop the temp 10 degrees, add light, give them fresh air a few times a day, and i believe you still need to mist or something to give some added humidity. you could add water to the jars for 24 hours to rehydrate them some. good luck
peace

when I had pins form invitro I didn't have to open the jars or anything...but really your better off birthing it and stickin a wide mouth quart jar over it...I've seen some pretty good results using that method(well for cakes) also dunk the cake...even if fruitin invitro I'd dunk it first..then close it back up after drainin out the water...the mycelium gobbles up a lot of water to colonize(you'll notice the cake is much heavier after the dunk)

I agree I was just giving him advice on what he wanted to do...not only that but while poo is easy after you've had some experience if your new to the game its best to start small or you may get frustrated...so many lil things to learn
