i need some advice with pans. i cased some dung/compost 1 and 1/2 weeks ago. the mycellium appears to be doing quite well as the top of the soil is covered in many areas. my temps are low, 70' since its fall.
should i case it or just hang in there....some say not to case- that its not necessary...and hoped by now i would see some new activity.

also, im a little concerned about the appearance of the mycellium...it still looks very white but not quite as fluffy...i gave it a light misting and it looks slightly waxy...tiny droplets on it

ok..

since the first day that i mixed the cakes of mycellia with the dung/compost the temps have been in the 70s and i have been misting and fanning.....
do you think i should put it in the basement with temps 10degrees lower?

since i have been doing the fanning and misting all along, im not sure what else to do to force pinnning? lower the humidity?

Ten degrees lower than the 70"s.No... Like in the 60"s No, you don't need to get them that low.

Sounds like all your details are met for pinning. Just give it some more time. Sometimes it can take longer than the specified times vendors give for fruiting. Give it another week-not slacking off from from the fanning. Your temp sounds fine. After a week, try deep scratching and cold shocking if all else fails, but it sounds like they just need a little extra time.

That is a good sign of fruitation not far off. The mycelia is switching gears from veg. growth to fruiting phase.:)bluhoney

Talk about perfect timing :)
I colo. 3 1/2 pint jars of birseed, and had them 100% colo. in 7-8 days. Well I crumbled them(pea size peices), and placed them in pie tins. Then covard them with a 1/4" of dung lightly mixed with verm. a little less then 2 days ago. Well the growth looks like one of the pics. RALPHSTER put in this thread. Humidity levels are about 98%, and temps. are 80F. These things grow fast! The mycl. looks GREAT! So if i'm correct, then I guess i can give them some light now, and start my fanning right? The pic. I was refering to is the one where RALPHSTER has small shrooms all over the place. Thats what my two casing look like...minus the shrooms.
HATS OFF TO YOU RALPHSTER :) You said you would send me a great product.....and you came through :) I will keep my promise to you :)

Hey ralpgh, got a ? for ya!
I just took off the tin foil that was on my PANS. I used a flashlight to look around, and as i looked i see alot of spots that have good growth, but it's really fuzzy. Some spots are extremly white, and the other spots are white/greyish. You think this might be cont.?
