hey there everyone
i was just wondering what you rate as the best films to watch while you're shpongled?
i can highly rate the following :
dr strangelove finding nemo (purdy colours) baraka, koyaanisqatsi, and their ilk the animatrix (matriculated) the castle (possibly the funniest film ever made) amelie
anyone else got any favourites?

yeah pulp fiction's a classic... was just remembering some other film experiences, and i must say i highly enjoyed lord of the rings 3 while under the influence of a medium dose of mycological goodness... it did get a bit 'immersive' though

good call! i'd forgotten that one.
most of tim burton's stuff is superb, but just a little too dark to trip to imho... but big fish is like amelie - surreal but really light with it

i wouldnt say films!
i often take my dog out for a walk up the park while trippin, but this one time i came home after i had taken him and a nature program was on TV i sat there watching it, absorbing it all in, before i knew it 2 hours had gone, there were adverts but i just kinda blocked them out, it was soo cool.

I want to try watching Bodysong on the shrooms at some point. I think it would be a deeply thought provoking and emmersive trip.
-------------------- My vision fell upon the seven tall candles upon the table. At first they wore the aspect of charity, and seemed white slender angels who would save me: but then all at once there came a most deadly nausea over my spirit, and I felt every fibre in my frame thrill, as if I had touched the wire of a galvanic battery, while the angel forms became meaningless spectres, with heads of flame, and I saw that from them there would be no help.

oooh, I almost forgot Waking Life. What a great movie to watch tripping. It's kind of hard to follow at some points, but definitely a good vibe for mushrooms.

hahahaaha, i tried that one - i just couldn't concentrate on the film at all, i was too absorbed in the infinite levels of detail the 'shifting' effect was creating...
same thing when i tried to play gran turismo while highly shpongled - i just ended up watching the reflections of the clouds in the car's back windsceen, and consequently forgot to steer

Is that the one with all the random images and stuff? I bet that would make for a strange and interesting trip.
There's not a great many movies that I can think of, but I think that Labyrinth would be interesting. As would anything by Studio Gibli (e.g. Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, etc.), and of course, Alice in Wonderland.

I saw Spirited Away on mushrooms, and it was a little too tense in some parts, so I had to fast forward. Overall, the wide array of unique characters made for a really interesting trip.
