Shamanism and spirituality knowledge needed

Im building a website on psychoactives and shamanism and related subjects. Ive started a section on shamanism and spirituality but I dont know where to start. Ive always been interested in shamanism but my knowledge is pretty limited. I already have some help with the psychoactives part of the site but I need someone with alot of knowledge on shamanism and spirituality to be a part of the site and take over that section of it.

you have started by linking to some good ones, maybe that is how you should countinue.
to kick it up a notch (by getting a real body on board - a shaman that is not a complete sham) you will probably have to provide a good honorarium. So good luck with finding one that measures up to your expectations.

If you want factual info on shamanism read "Shamanism: Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy" by Eliade and "The Way of the Shaman" by Michael Harner. These will show you the rudiments shamanism. Stay away from Terrence McKenna as his work is pop culture and has many innaccuracies. Stay away from Castaneda as his stuff is NOT about shamanism and tends to confuse newbies as to the purpose of shamanism (healing). Another good author is Richard Evans Shultz.

I strongly suggest a book called "Healing with Form, Energy and Light" by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Its a really good book on Shamanism, as well as including Tantra and Dzogchen aspects of healing from Tibetan Buddhism.

I will give it a look. I am always looking for new material on the subject...I have exhausted my reading material on the sshamanism and I always like to find new books to expand my info. Tibetan Buddhism has shamanistic roots and is of interest to me also. Thanks.

read "the way of the shaman" by michael harner, and be sure to pick up "shamanic Experience" by kennith meadows, it contains a cd in the back with shamanic drumming on it so you can take journeys to the lower world, upper world ect.

In my previos post I recommended Harner's book...it is very good. I have also read Mr. Meadow's book as well...it was correct in it's info, but was not as good as Harner's. Meadows writes about a lot of occult phenomena so I am not sure how much of his work is based on practical experience. It is a good book regardless as he can write.
