It's amazing what light can do; and what photos can come out if you just tweak your camera a little.

I dig doing time exposure stuff. I've played with it for years. Heres a pic of oDin and Vamp on a ride at Electric Daisy Carnival last year.

And here are a couple other pics from that same night.

And heres a pic I took about 10 years ago. I think it was about a 10 or 15 minutes exposure. The mountains are lit up by the distant lights of Las Vegas and the streak in the sky is a passing airplane.

neat lookin pics, though not all that hard to do. Try taking your picture taking (taking) to the next level. Have some composition in your shots. Have some real lighting considerations. Maybe do some slight hue/tone adjustments in PS. I'm no photographer, and have just started playing with taking "real" photos with my camera. Here's what a 30 seconds of shot setup and a little afterwork in ps can get ya:

Even though I finally graduated to digital photography last year I am still kind of opposed to digital manipulation of my images. I have photoshop but I don't use it to edit any of my pictures. I get a lot more satisfaction in my work by being able to use my equipment well enough to capture what I want on the spot. Post-exposure manipulation is an art form all its own, but its not photography to me. I think this attitude comes from years of working with 35mm film.

I still use a 35mm film camera for any long exposure work I want to do. This is where the digital equipment has not quite caught up yet. At least not in a form that is reasonably priced. I even bought an old Olympus OM-1 last year for doing nothing but time exposures. Things like lightning storms and astrophotography.

I tend to agree with you. And if I had nicer equipment I probably wouldnt have to photo manip my images afterwords sometimes. But usually when I take a pic of something with my camera (mid-range canon digital elph), the colors always come out blander than how I see them. And that's all I do, just adjust the curve a tad.

Cool pics!

Here are some simple high exposure pics I took:

I have a tripod now and that will make it much easier to make good pictures.
