Hey, went hunting the other day and came across this wierd sub. Had snow white gills...... could this be a mutant or perhaps even a new species?
This is it next to a normal looking one of similar age.....

lol, i dont know about shrooms much.. but i wouldnt eat those, inless they were reallly good. Cause they look like they taste bad. post back how they are.

It's a sterile mushroom (doesnt produce spores). Not common but not unheard of either.

A sterile shroom........ lucky I didnt bother trying to take a spore print. If you took a tissue clone of this shroom and spawned a patch with it, would you get only these sterile mushrooms growing?

Well shroomer88, they are fine to eat - look a bit old I know but after drying it looked a lot more normal. Still tastes terrible, quite bitter. Very potent though.

Thats what I've read. After all, cloning is a genetic copy of the "parent" mushroom.
