My first petri



It's way overgrown so I can pick it up by the lid. That's all mycellium, right? it grew so fast and fluffy that I don't know.

ha, thanks, might as well throw it out because of some water :smile:

that pic is from last night. this morning, the myc is growing down outside of the dish under the lid towards FREEDOM

that's most of the same petri. Right side is more rhyzo and left is cottony? The bottom myc is trying to escape under the lid

take the more agrssive and rhizo growth and transfer it to more plates, slants if
you can, I have thousands of culture tubes if you need any.

I don't know anything about slants.  nothing, I'm an engineer not a biologist.  So far the petri dishes and 1/2 pint jars work out good.  more agar is cooling now :smile:

what is the advantage of slants vs. petri dishes? probably water droplets or something like that? does that make it difficult to inoculate with? or would you transfer again before innnoc?
