Hi Folks,
I currently have 3 small casings fruiting in a large rubbermaid. One is puerto rican, one B+ and one Maz. All 3 are producing plit caps while the veil is still partialy attached and just as it seperates from the cap and none are overly mature. The RH bounces between 84 and 97 at 3inches above the casings. Fresh air is braught in by a cool mist timed 30 min on/30 min off per hour. The air is not directed at the casing surface or fruits. All 3 are misted once a day with my misty-mate with distilled water. They are all WBS spawned to straw and on their first and second flushes. They recieve indirect sunlight and temp is a steady 76.
I cant for the life of me figure out why they are splitting. I just thought someone else might have an idea.....
Oh...and there is no cleaning or sterilizing products brought or used near them. I know for a fact they are not contamed.
Thanks for any input or ideas anyone might have.......Sorry no cam..

Thanks for the reply,
Its bran new, baught 3 weeks ago and salt tested its only off by 2%. I have an old one that is off by 6% and side by side in the chamber they both read correct with jus the 6% difference...
Im out of ideas, Though this is my first run with this particular setup. If it happens with my next run then I guess i'll jus have to accept it....they just wont be as pretty anymore...:(

my only other conclusion from the info provided would be that it spends much of it's time on the lower range of humidity

I have seen this happen on rare occasion. Keep in mind that some humans have splitting hair ends too. That is, it could be genetic.
