choosing the right seeds
    #4309705 - 06/18/05 01:38 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

right, im not sure whether to go with the indoor mix, or the durban poison seeds. im leaning towards the indoor mix, but not completely sure. Ill be growing inside my room, but i dont think ill be using a grow light (hopefully the night from my window will be enough.. pray pray).
the indoor is cheaper, doesnt grow as tall (which is good caus its in my room right), and has more thc thingy (just the slightest...).
but the thing is in the description of the durban poison, it mentions a "trippy high".
I dont really enjoy gettning stoned, but i love getting high! those energetic kinda highs etc r so fun! but the trippy part made me think, is it gonan b a different type of high? will it b better? or is it refering to the typical high and they r jsut using those kinda words to sell?

Uhm..

Not to be rude or anything, but you don't sound like you're educated enough to grow your own marijuana. Light from your window isn't going to be enough. Growing weed, especially good weed, isn't easy.

What you're looking for though is a definite sativa dominant strain, but don't grow any "sativa mixes" or whatever, that's crap. And Durban poison isn't very potent. Check out overgrow.com, their forums have everything you need to know about growing and different strains effects and what not. Good people there too that will help you out.

Good luck.

so i guess i wont take the durban, but what about that indoor mix i was talkin about? you dont think its even worth gettin? caus the site also says its one of the easier to grow plants.
hmm, and the light... i realy dont wanna depend on a grow light (expensive, runs a big electricity bill and brings attention...). damn cali sun, only good for tanning hot chicks...

you don't have to learn much about growing weed, i seen people chuck it in the ground with no tlc and still survives. maybe not that graet just shows you that weeds can survive pretty much anything. if you want one for you room learn how to bonsai.

Why don't you just grow outdoor? Most outdoor strains are easier to grow and you don't have to spend as much money getting a good setup.

i think for you first time, you should be trying a full indica strain. they're the easiest to grow and should get you some decent bud in a small footprint of a grow space.

it seems you have alot to learn about growing weed. wanting to go with a sativa, especially from your window, is going to be very dissapointing for you. you need equipment to control the environment. a 250W light would probably be plenty for you and won't hike up the electricity bill like the rumors you've heard. a 250w light should only cost about 20$ more per month if your electric company charges around 10cents per kilowatt hour. not to mention that figure is going to be cut in half after 1 month since you will switch to only 12 hours of light per day.

have you browsed around www.overgrow.com?

you have ALOT to learn man. sativa has more of the high you want, but it's harder to grow and get decent buds. stick with an indica like northern lights, maybe 'northern lights #5'. 'bogglegum' or 'bogbubble' are good starter strains too.

look here
http://www.overgrow.com/faq/sitemap.php

and the different harvest times have a little affect on the high. that's another thing you'll have to get right and work at with different grows.

AK47 is a nice easy to grow strain. It has an Indica, Sativa, and Cherry Sativa phenotype. You're likely to get one of each from a 10 pack. The sativa types make nice full buds without much stretching (would do fine in a small spot). It has a knockout high, if you've never had it you'd definetly be in for a treat.

Durban Poison is pure sativa if I'm not mistaken, or heavily sativa anyway.  That gets old.  Trippy high, yes, but paranoia, confusion, and an irritating comedown/burnout that lasts forever.  I smoked only sativa for a while, and now indica seems soooooo nice

The only time I've ever grown pot was from shwag seeds. I too lived in an apartment complex. What I did was grow it in a little pot until it grew too big for that little pot to hold it. Then I put it in a backpack in the middle of the night one day in April or May and went and planted it in a wooded area near my apartment. I would then go check up on it every once and a while. By September, I had some KIND bud. It was a terrific experience for me.

Yeah, Buddha is a type of weed by Dutch Passion seeds. But over time it's just became slang for all weed.

You've never heard that before?

Smoking buddha
