Bush can't help lying to promote the (anti) Patriot Act
    #4306612 - 06/17/05 02:28 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

It must be some sort of congenital condition. He is not that despicable and a traitor to the American people, is he?

President Bush has been making the rounds with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, delivering the great news that, thanks to the Patriot Act, law enforcement has been able to charge 400 suspected terrorists with crimes, while 200 have been convicted. From a speech at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy on June 9:

"Federal terrorism investigations have resulted in charges against more than 400 suspects, and more than half of those charged have been convicted."

Actually, though, Bush is exaggerating the facts when he says that 200 terrorism suspects had been convicted. Big surprise? Not from this president, who apparently assumes the American people to be rubes he can easily manipulate.

The Washington Post examined Justice Department terrorism prosecutions and found that the number of convictions related to terrorism was a bit lower than 200: only 39 were convicted of crimes related to terrorism or national security.

Many of the other convictions were not related to terrorism, such as making false statements and violating immigration laws.

When you're George W. Bush, you can simply lump all convictions together to support your claim that law enforcement is nabbing terrorists right and left, all thanks to the Patriot Act.

I have long expounded on the point that if you sincerely believe in what you are doing, the unadorned truth is sufficient to make your case.

People are so dilluded! They cant find the truth before someone makes them feel like it is real, and before they can change their beliefs, they are sucked into a frenzy of bullshit.

I dont even know why im saying this, maybe cause it irritates me, well they can FUCK oFFF.

Somebody does. He got re-elected and our boys are dying in Iraq because he mumbled "Saddam, 9/11 and WMD" in the same breath too many times to count.

If a lie is repeated enough times it becomes the truth right?

that still doesnt mean they believe him...maybe they see it not so much as lying as rubbing it in...

This is a perfect example of the malady of the left. They are basicly elitists who think that they know better than anybody else and if someone disagrees it is because they are brainwashed or "dilluded". Bulletin time chillens, it aint necessarily so, and you don't get to decide what is in my interests, only I do.
