Trying Hard, No Luck

Hi All,
I keep looking for some good shrooms but I have yet to have any luck. I was wondering if some one might be cool enough to tell me a known mushie spot, to help a rookie hunter.

Watch the weather. 'shrooms often pop up after a few days of rain. Try looking in the woods close to lakes in woodchips, or on any farm that you have permision to be on. Could not find jack-shit in extreme southern Kentucky yesterday... not even a toad stool!

Hey Nick:

You don't say where you are in Oregon, but here's some general advice.

P. semilanceata can be found in most cow pastures west of the Coast Range, particularly up around Tilamook. The trick is finding a pasture where you won't get kicked out or arrested for trespassing. This is difficult anymore, & has been for years.

They also grow in more inland pastures. You want an "exact location," I'll tell you one but don't blame me if you get busted! There is a big cattle ranch just west of Eugene called Bartel Ranch, which I used to get kicked out of countless times, but usually after finding muchos hongos. You drive west on Hwy 126, then turn in & park at the main road to Fern Ridge Lake on the right. Run across the Hwy, cut thru the bushes & follow the paralleling RR trax for a way. Make sure there's no cops parked on the service road along the RR (they like to run radar traps for speeders there), hop the fence on the other side of the trax, & cut thru the woods to the fields. Lotsa libs, or at least there used to be. But by 1988, the rancher got so sick of irresponsible pickers breaking fences, scaring livestock, & throwing garbage around that he filed a permanent trespassing complaint w/ the Sheriff & now they cite everybody they catch in there.

Don't say I didn't warn ya!
