PROBLEMS WITH EVIL GREEN

Ok, im a fairly expierence mushroom grower. Been doing it casing style for about a year now. I have recently been loosing almost everything after or before the 1st flush to the green. It starts out looken like mycellium before it erupts in green.

I use verm+brf for jars. Case with verm. Fruit with perlite as humidity in a rubbermade. I sterilize the casing material. Spraying lysol in the air all around before i do shit. Wipe my hands down with rubbing alc. I havent changed any of my procedures from when i rarely got the mold.

I recently found green mold under a tin foil casing tray in the perlite wtf is that shit. And it attack 1 out of 3 trays. Last night they were fine this morning. 1 had a shitload of the bubbly white shit thats gonna erupt into green so i pitched it.

Ive been putting a lot of effort into this and it makes me sad that i have to throw out stuff i have barly used :(.

Time to clean house. First empty your terrarium and bake the hell out of your perlite. Douche your terrarium with 10% alchohol in water. Keep all jars, terrariums, etc. off the floor. Are you growing in the basement? Consider moving your project. No air conditioners. Grow away from people, pets and food (kitchens). Buy a HEPA filter. Mop the floor with a bleach solution. Have faith, you'll get back on top of things.

LOL -- douche your terrarium. I can just imagine the terrarium in the bathroom, one leg up on the rim of the tub, one arm raised with the rubber bag in hand.

BUT ANYWAY, also consider keeping your grow chamber as far off the ground as you can. Contams settle near the floor. Whenever I intend to break the chamber seal, I first spray the surrounding area and space above the chamber with fine mists of water. I want to grab all particles and bring 'em down.

I've seen that green mold. Nasty stuff. By the time you see it on the casing, it's already run through the substrate. Not fun. Also, try keeping the casing a bit drier. That green mold loves wet casings. Lemme guess, it starts out frosty white then when you look some more you find dark green...

Hmm, maybe i should set my growing chamber on the top or middle level instead of on the hard wood floor in my room.
